North Tigard Community is a community of Colossae Church.
At Colossae we value relationships. Sunday mornings are vital for us, but we also understand there are limitations to the depth of relationships that can be developed during this time alone. So, we have decentralized our church during the mid-week for two purposes:
- To connect with others that live in our immediate areas. Our desire for connecting is deeper than just social interaction. We meet over dinner and converstaion, but we also understand it’s in deeper relationships with other Christians that we are equipped to grow in our faith development. God has uniquely gifted people for the “building up” of believers and in order to be influenced by these gifts we must be in close relationship with others (Ephesians 4:11-16).
- To serve the Portland area. Approximately once a month each community group will serve together in some capacity in the Portland area. Ephesians 4:11-16 speaks of the unique ways in which God has gifted people to equp others toward “works of service…unity of faith…maturity…” We understand a natural outcome of people that are growing in their faith is service. So, this is an integral part of our connecting outside of Sunday mornings.
